About

The Marquette Literary Review has been publishing creative writing and artwork by members of the Marquette University community for more than twenty years. We publish poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, and artwork, edited by student writers.

In the beginning, MLR only published creative writing by undergraduate student writers. Today, we publish creative writing and artwork by writers and artists from the whole Marquette University community, including graduate students, faculty, staff, and alumni.

In 1999, Dr. Angela Sorby transitioned MRL from the College of Communication to the Department of English, where it lives today. In 2022, Raynor Library collected electronic copies of all surviving issues of MLR and made them freely available for download at the library’s institutional repository.
